Serenity Hill Gardens is the home of Ellie Jerrell and Randy Cashion, near Dewitt, Va. It is our Friday tour garden, located north and west of South Hill. You will find a large, diverse collection of registered daylily cultivars, seedlings, garden art, companion plants, two ponds (both unique), and stately trees above a wonderful old home. There are magnificent Koi in the large and deep pond and the smaller one is a waterfall feature coming off of the roof of a building!
Belinda and Robert Sheppard's home is first on the Saturday tour. It is near two large lakes - Buggs Island Lake and Lake Gaston. A wonderful home on the hill, surrounded by different gardens with many daylilies and a large collection of companion plants, trees, shrubs, and garden art. Not to be missed are the well-appointed She Shed ("The Lilypad"), and Robert's restored antique tractor in the barn/garage.
Garden Judge 2 instruction is offered at this garden. 8-930 am.
Debbie Parsons
This garden is the second on the Saturday tour. A very large commercial garden in a farm-like setting with a wonderful old home shaded by large trees. There are many daylily beds, a water feature, very cute restored barn with a Boutique inside, greenhouse, and arbor. It is used for both large daylily sales, and for weddings and events. You will find an amazing selection of daylily cultivars. Near Charlotte Courthouse and Randolph.
Tena & Pete Felts
This is the final tour garden on Saturday. A box lunch is provided at this garden.
This is a very large rural garden, very neatly done, with extensive beds of daylily, rose, dahlia, iris, hosta, and companion plants. You will find a unique water feature, many cool outbuildings, and a large vegetable garden. There is lots of shade in places, plenty of spots to sit, and a newer building built by Tena and Pete where the lunch will be held ( inside in the shade) . Fans of farms, farm equipment, and daylilies will all find this place fascinating. It is near Crewe, VA., home of the Railroad Museum.
